Weigh-in-Motion Sensor and Controller Operation and Performance Comparison Status: CompleteReport Date: 01/30/2018 Summary: Researchers compared the performance of current weigh-in-motion (WIM) sensors with new sensors. Results suggest that the two current vendor systems perform consistently, but it is unclear which system's sensors are more accurate or more durable. Design improvements to a new vendor system are necessary before it can be implemented. Researchers also suggested improvements to performance evaluation procedures and to methods for determining when sensors require recalibration.
