To support the development of this manual, MnDOT is interested in gathering information about best practices for positive protection in work zones used by other state departments of transportation (DOTs). This Transportation Research Synthesis presents the results of a survey distributed to members of the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) Subcommittee on Construction about their DOT's policies and practices for positive protection in work zones. It also includes findings from a literature search that focused on obtaining links to positive protection manuals, guidance and specifications from other DOTs.
