A Tool for Designing MnPASS Access Spacing Status: CompleteReport Date: 03/16/2018 Summary: The implementation team used modeling and data retrieval methods developed in previous research projects to create a new tool for the Regional Transportation Management Center (RTMC). When data shows changes in traffic patterns and congestion, the software allows RTMC technicians to model and design changes in MnPASS access to improve driver mobility and safety. The tool also bolsters MnDOT's position in the national transportation management sector as a leading advocate for open-access HOT lane designs.
