Intersection Safety Technologies Guidebook Status: CompleteReport Date: 05/27/2016 Summary: Flashing LED stop signs and Intersection Conflict Warning Systems are new technologies that can help reduce the number and severity of crashes at rural intersections. Through a synthesis of available research and case studies of installations of these technologies in Minnesota, this project developed a guide to help local engineers understand the factors they need to consider when deciding whether and where to implement these technologies. The guide will also help engineers respond to questions and communicate with supervisors, board members or the public.
