Vehicle-Based Lane Departure Warning Systems Shown Effective in Simulator Testing Status: CompleteReport Date: 06/30/2015 Summary: Drivers' behavioral response to a vibration-based lane departure warning system was tested on a driving simulator to determine the system's suitability in minimizing or preventing run-off-road crashes. Results showed the system decreased the severity of such events without any indication that drivers would adapt to rely too much on the system's warnings.
