Software Platforms for Sign ManagementStatus: ActiveProject Start Date: 05/19/2025Subscribe for Updates Summary: Managing assets is a significant portion of a local agency’s regular operations. One of the major asset types that agencies maintain is signage on and around roadways. Currently, there are several sign management software tools available, but there is little guidance on the benefits and drawbacks of these different software tools. This research project will explore the different options available for sign management and answer several fundamental questions regarding this technology: • What are the different sign management tools that local agencies can utilize? • Can the data be transferred between these different tools? • What happens when a vendor changes and/or no longer supports the tool used by agencies?
