Asphalt Rejuvenators

Summary:

Although many Minnesota local agencies are experimenting with spray-on asphalt rejuvenators, the history of asphalt rejuvenator sprays, aimed at restoring aged asphalt, traces back to the 1950s. MnDOT, the LRRB, and the National Road Research Alliance (NRRA) have been conducting and have ongoing research on spray rejuvenators. The focus of this document is to provide a summary of past and ongoing research, along with a summary of Minnesota local agencies’ experiences, specifically: • Ongoing NRRA/LRRB Field Study of Proprietary Spray-on Rejuvenators • Survey of Minnesota local agencies • Overview of past Minnesota research
