TRS: Investigation of Performance Requirements of Full Depth Reclamation Stabilization

Status:  Complete
Report Date:  12/31/2013

Summary:

The Minnesota Department of Transportation recognizes the value of the pavement recycling process called Stabilized Full Depth Reclamation (SFDR) and wishes to promote further usage. But before widespread application of SFDR is attainable, it is imperative that the performance requirements for SFDR be determined. Since there is an absence of such a specification in Minnesota, the structural capacity of SFDR may not be fully attained. The objective of this research project is to determine optimal properties that SFDR material should attain to be used as a base layer for hot-mix asphalt (HMA) roadways.
