Effect of Centerlines on Prevailing Traffic Speeds on Low-Speed, Two-Lane, Two-Way Roads in Urban Contexts

Status:  Active
Project Start Date:  07/22/2024

Summary:

The objective of this research is to understand the influence centerlines have on prevailing speeds and identify if centerline usage should be reduced on low-speed, two-lane, two-way roads in urban contexts. This objective will be accomplished through a series of field studies to examine the variation in driver speed selection behavior due to the presence and absence of centerlines.
