Recognizing the challenges in controlling the weed, Canada thistle, the Minnesota Department of Transportation (Mn/DOT) and the Minnesota Local Road Research Board (LRRB) have supported research on the topic. This synthesis offers a brief summary of that work and provides additional information about other national and international research, Mn/DOT methods and practices, other state department of transportation practices nationwide, and research in progress.
