DCT Low Temperature Fracture Testing Pilot ProjectStatus: CompleteReport Date: 05/26/2015 Summary: This pilot project continued the work of two phases of a national pooled fund study that recommended the disk-shaped compact tension test to predict asphalt pavement cracking at low temperatures and to adjust pavement mixes to reduce cracking. Researchers used the DCT test on five asphalt construction projects in Minnesota and used the results to adjust the mixes of three pavements that did not meet a minimum fracture energy standard.
