Evaluation of Recycled Aggregates Test Section PerformanceStatus: CompleteReport Date: 02/27/2017 Summary: Using recycled concrete pavement as aggregate in new concrete mixes can save money while producing long-lasting pavement. New design methods allow engineers to create durable mixes from recycled concrete aggregate (RCA) that improve on RCA mixes of the past, reducing the need for virgin aggregate, a diminishing and expensive resource. The specifications and guidelines resulting from this research allow for cost-effective, potentially high-performing RCA pavements that meet federal sustainability standards.
