Performance Specification for Geogrid Reinforced Aggregate BaseStatus: CompleteReport Date: 10/10/2018 Summary: Researchers developed effective modeling of geogrid-reinforced aggregate bases that allows for variation in geogrid shape and size, aggregate gradation, roughness and moisture content. New geogrid modeling can be used with MnPAVE Flexible, allowing pavement designers to simulate field tests of stiffness and resiliency of pavements over aggregate bases with and without geogrid. MnDOT is using results to develop a design input for geogrid that quantifies its benefit in terms of pavement service life and aggregate thickness.
