Updating Best Practices for Geosynthetic Use

Summary:

Newer geosynthetic products, including high-performance woven and wicking geosynthetics (e.g., newer Mirafi product lines), have been developed to improve subgrade stabilization and moisture management. While these materials have demonstrated potential benefits, their performance advantages, limitations, and appropriate applications are not yet well established in current agency guidance and practice. There is a need to update and synthesize existing knowledge to reflect current technologies, what is available and being used in Minnesota.
