Laboratory Test of Asphalt Mixes Predicts Pavement Cracking Performance in the Field

Status:  Complete
Report Date:  06/10/2015

Summary:

A relationship was established between asphalt concrete mix designs and field cracking performance. Researchers determined that measuring the fracture energy of asphalt mix designs using a disk-shaped compact tension test is a promising way to predict asphalt cracking performance in the field.
