511 Data SnapshotStatus: CompleteReport Date: 12/08/2025 Summary: MnDOT’s 511 traveler information system provides real-time statewide data of crashes, closures, construction, and winter road conditions to third-party mapping platforms like Waze, Apple Maps, and Google Maps. MnDOT wanted to validate the accuracy of information being display on third-party mapping platforms, to ensure the right data was being shared with travelers in a timely manner. For safety, and not to disturb the public, the team conducted a one-day closed-circuit test at MnDOT’s MnROAD site.
