Project Summary: Argus IRIS Operational Dashboards Status: CompleteReport Date: 03/11/2026 Summary: MnDOT uses the Intelligent Roadway Information System (IRIS) software to manage traffic monitoring and control devices. IRIS operates thousands of message signs, cameras, ramp meters and other devices. This project was developed to pilot the use of the Argus data dashboard system to create a better user interface for device condition data from State’s current IRIS software. The Argus dashboard was created to provide key insights into MnDOT’s extensive traffic management system such as operational capacity, historical data and device performance. Understanding the performance of the IRIS system is key to both its real-time operations and maintenance. Argus worked to extract, organize and present IRIS’s data in a clear and easy to access form, making it available to a wider audience.
