Summary Report: 2025 Statewide CAV Familiarity and Perception Survey Status: CompleteReport Date: 02/10/2026 Summary: Connected and automated vehicle (CAV) technology continues to advance, bringing new possibilities—and new questions—for Minnesota’s transportation system. Since the 2020 statewide baseline survey, Minnesotans’ familiarity with CAV concepts has generally increased, reflecting broader exposure to emerging technologies and ongoing public conversation. However, awareness and understanding remain uneven, and public perceptions continue to be shaped by a balance of optimism, curiosity, and concern. The findings presented in this 2025 report offer a comprehensive snapshot of current public perception in Minnesota. They highlight opportunities to build understanding, address concerns, and strengthen trust—while reinforcing the need to center community voices as decisions about CAV technology move forward.
